I like Temple Lake park better myself. Just came from there in fact. Only time we go to blora is for the Nature of lights thing in December.

No there are no signs I could see but the website said it's prohibited by the US army corps of engineers. Didn't want to risk it

We must collectively reject the word "hope."

    Hope is not a method.

It a misguided notion that others know what is good for us.

Fight for what is right and just. Don't be a passive spectator "hoping" that politicians will do what is "right" for you!

I agree-BLORA isn't that great with the exception of it's Christmas lights display. Now the gun thing is just one more thing I don't like about it. I've never known them to do vehicle inspections though, so you could probably just leave it hidden in your truck....if you got there and forgot to leave it at home.

Uh...who said BLORA is a state park? It's not. It's entirely on Federal land operated by Army MWR, not USACE. USACE ownes and controls the lake and flood easement and leases land for recreational use (city parks, marinas, etc.). Also, the restrictions for firearms on USACE land: Title 36 CFR, chapter III, part 327.13

There's far too many waterways in Texas that are "owned" by the Army Corps of Engineers. We really need to take that land back.
