Hello,
I have a completely stripped 70s era Remington 1100 receiver ready for re-bluing.
I am looking for gunsmiths in the North Houston/Cypress area or along the Hwy 290 corridor (Hempstead, Brenham, Giddings, Elgin, & Austin) as I frequently travel in that area. Hwy 6 up to Bryan/College Station is also an option as well.
This is a field gun only and I am looking for an affordable bluing job that will last years. No need to polish the slight pitting, etc. just cover it up so it stops rusting. Again, not looking for a show quality finish.
I stripped and started the process with the Birchwood Casey kit but then realized how long it was going to take and how difficult it is to get the proper bluing inside the spring tube and mag tube without a fully dipped bath.
Please feel free to reply or PM me your contact info.
Thank you.
