For what it's worth - I have a BP revolver that I cleaned the cylinder of in my ultrasonic. Completely stripped off the bluing. Bought some Birchwood Casey bluing stuff a while ago. Having nothing better to do today, I put the cylinder in a cup of sanivac - basically the same as lime away. It completely stripped off all the finish. Cleaned it with brake cleaner and some 000 steel wool. Put about four coats of the bluing compound in it, with some steel wool rubbing and cleaning on it in between, and it looks great. I should have taken some before and after pics, but you'll just have to trust me.

    That looks good to me.

P.S. Let Obitup do his own. We could use a good laugh.

    To All,

I thought that this would be a thread on hot bluing but I was dead wrong.

Do any of you know of a person who will do a SMALL job, i.e., re-blue the slide for my trusty Sig-Sauer P225/P6??
(The bluing is literally wearing off & needs refinishing. - The frame & the rest of the parts are fine.)

I would also accept someone who does FLAT BLACK "Parkerizing" for the same little job.

    THANKS, satx
