Not all that unusual on crowded lakes during holidays and weekends. Makes you wonder how some of the idiot halfasses can manage to make enough money to own a $35k boat.

I'm fishing on Lake Hamilton this summer and fall and make it a practice to only go out Mon thru Fri to keep out of their wakes.

This was 2pm on a Thursday.

    Totally sucks!
    Complete assholes!
But nothing to do with the steering type.

There was discussion about tiller steering motors. Most boats with either of those steering types are generally relatively small motors and boats.

    Problem solved.

Got back up here to AR and replaced the entire cable, housing, steering stick and its box.

True to the old maxim: B(reak) O(ut) A(nother) T(housand), it was costly, but what a difference. It is now back to factory spec and steering like that bayou boat in the video above.

Just in time as fishing is fix'n to get good, despite that global warming cold weather.

    To All,

Fwiw, I'm looking for yet another long/slim/"old school" bass-boat of the 1965-75 era, with stick-steering, to remodel into a "crappie fishing special" for the sloughs/creeks/"narrow" waters of TX. = Something like a 1960s SKEETER, RANGER, TIDECRAFT or similar would be perfection, given my love of Texas-built boats.
(I have several 35 & 40 HP Johnnyrude outboards to power it.)

    yours, satx
