    San Antonio!
OK, I know technically Boerne isn't San Antonio; but with all the growth along IH-10 it's getting to be one long metropolis! :p

I heard a radio ad about a gun show in Boerne this weekend (10-11 March), and a quick search revealed it is a Liberty one. Well, that took a little wind out of my sails. Still, was wondering if anyone's been to one of these anymore and can provide details that seem to be conveniently lacking from Liberty's website (such as the number of tables, types of vendors, etc.)...

Along the IH-10 corridor it is, but we take the back roads (Scenic Loop to Boerne Stage or Toutant Beauregard) from Helotes so there's a bit of a break from all the development and congestion. However, it's starting to encroach there as well... :(

Same thing Leon Valley, Helotes, Castle Hills, Terrell Hills, Hill Country Village, Shavano Park, Hollywood Park, Kirby, etc. all said at one point. In the infamous words of the Borg, "You will be assimilated!" It's not a matter of 'if,' but 'when'...

Now back to the topic at hand...does anyone know about this gun show?

It HAS to be better than the New Braunfels show.

    I wouldn't bank on that.

We went to the Kerrville show (pretty much accidentally stumbled upon it) a few weekends ago and it was pretty much a waste of time. Not that I am a big fan of the SAXET show here in SA, but at least it has a variety of vendors and is cheap ($5) to get in. Paying more for less isn't a strong marketing scheme in my book...

From the book of face, a review of the Feb 25, 2018 show put on by Liberty:

Attended the show in New Braunfels today (2/25/18) - 2nd time in a row that it was a waste of time & money. These shows used to be great, but Liberty just got the last $7 out of me (yes, SEVEN dollars to walk thru the door). Maybe a dozen vendors and half of them were selling scent warmers, jewelry, or knives. It was close to this bad last show, but I assumed it was just an anomoly - but apparently it's now the norm. I guess it was money well-spent to learn to never waste my time here again. If you want a better experience for $7, eat lunch @ Whataburger and go to Academy Sports. You'll get something for your money and see 3x as many guns.

It's going to be a beautiful Texas day, and we may end up taking a ride in the Jeep up to Boerne; but I am pretty sure we'll give this show a miss. I'd rather use the money for gas...

    Nope.

    Nope, Nope Nope Nope Nope.

    No Sir.

Unfortunately SA is vomiting itself physically in a NW direction towards the Boerne area, but in no way/shape/form or fashion does Boerne equal SA.
You are probably correct. I'm commenting only from a highway/traffic standpoint. I used to love to go to Boerne (downtown) but with the highway construction the way it is (and it is getting better there), I'll just wait for the next phase.

I know what you mean. I grew up in Pflugerville when there was only one schoolhouse and it was in the sticks.

Went to college in San Angelo.

Now, you can’t tell where San Marcos ends and Georgetown begins.

San Angelo keeps looking nicer and nicer, but I’m thinking our next move will be closer to Mason.

San Angelo got caught up in the shale oil boom.
You wouldn't recognize it from 10 years ago.

Yeah. I went back in 2012 when my kids were looking at colleges. Lots of change. Brownwood, too.

I miss Harlow’s and Zentner’s. At least Perini Ranch is still around up in Buffalo Gap.
