If you can still find them, I like anything by John D. MacDonald. Especially the Travis McGee series.
I’ve read all the “colors” of the Travis McGee series and enjoyed them all.

Yeah. It's one of those books that I can vividly see playing out in my mind as I read along. I might actually walk past the statute of Ignatius in a few hours. I'm in Baton Rouge, about to head to Nola for the dayYes, mental challenges, disappointment, suicide then to be posthumously awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. Very sad. I've never read a novel with such clear mental imagery of the characters.
That is pretty awesome.Ended up meeting my author when we started his book tour for In the Blood. He does a great job in writing the villan and making you want to see them die at the end.
Bought it, haven’t read it. Watched several videos where Jordan Peterson referenced it.That is pretty awesome.
Anyone ever check out Gulag Archipelago?
“Our envy of others devours us most of all. Rub your eyes and purify your heart -and prize above all else in the world those who love you and who wish you well. Do not hurt them or scold them, and never part from any of them in anger; after all, you simply do not know: it may be your last act before your arrest, and that will be how you are imprinted on their memory.”
A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole is a novel masterpiece.
That's why they have their exclusive bunker. Government proves everyday that it sucks and gets worse every dayRaven Rock by Garrett M. Graff
" The story of the U.S. Government's secret plan to save itself------While the rest of us die"
Well researched and written picks up after WWII on the COG (continuance of government) plans to survive all scenarios to present day.........
I'm half way through and keen to the realization that we citizens are truly and totally screwed if the EOTWAWKI ever happens..........

I guy I use to work with said the first book was good. He said the ones after kinda got weird. Our something to that effect. It's still on my list thoughIf you hadn't read Dune and don't mind screwing up your movie experience, I recommend it to the scifi fans out there.
All the movie versions, especially the 1984 version, have a timeline problem. The 2000 Dune miniseries, IMHO, was the closest to the book.I guy I use to work with said the first book was good. He said the ones after kinda got weird. Our something to that effect. It's still on my list though
