Anyone near the 77479 area have a bench vise they could allow for a 30ish minute borrowing to screw a barrel into receiver?

Can pay in ammo or free complementary test fire of assembled rifle.

    Thanks!

clamp two 2x4 together. drill hole in center between the two. line hole with leather scrap. squeeze them together around barrel with 4 bolts. even when I had a vise I did this to protect the barrel. the problem was always the bench or 'foundation' being heavy enough or anchored solidly enough to stay in place when the barrel was turned.

I feel your pain. I had to use this crappy little set up for a couple of builds. I'm really missing my old work bench and bench vise.

Harbor freight has a clamp on vise for about $40. I have one and use it regularly.
