    I need to get one some day, my Mom just sent me this picture of my Dad in Korea with a Garand (at least I think it's one!)...

    He was a combat engineer, and a First Sergeant in that pic. I'd like to own one some day just because it's what Dad carried in during that conflict...

    Do those clips ever fly out and hit the person?

    They flip straight up but I don't recall ever being hit by an enblock clip. In our matches, we have two rapid fire stages with 10 rounds and a mandatory reload each. There are some aftermarket two round clips that work great for the purpose. Shoot 2 then reload with 8 rounds. The Garand is a great rifle but one of the fussiest rifles that I've ever fired. Virtually everything that you do changes point of impact.
