Bought a set of pewter 1911 grips.....

Problem is, the holes in the grips do not line up with the frame studs on my colt. It isn't by much, and I think I can file the hole a bit larger. This is my first time altering pewter, and looking for advise on file type to use. I have a 5" tapered slim file that might work. Any advise would be appreciated!

I bought some on ebay and I had the same issue. The holes would not line up and I decided to "modify" the holes a bit and ended up throwing them into my spare parts box because the holes just didnt look "right". Ordered some VZ grips and was happy. Good luck getting them lined up.
