Javelina are considered game animals here. Be careful

Exactly...they have a season and a bag limit.
Javelina (collared Peccary) are not a pig although they look like one.

Taking one out of season and being caught by the game warden would not be a good thing not to mention “hunting from the road”. That puts you at 2 strikes.

Mistaking a Javelina for a wild hog ? That could be a costly mistake.

The main difference in laws and regulations in Texas regarding feral hogs and javelinas is that javelinas are classified as a game animal and feral hogs are classified as an exotic free-ranging livestock.

Feral hogs are a real problem in Texas! They destroy habitat and compete with native species and livestock. Javelina are smaller, native species that feed mostly on prickly pear cactus. ... While feral hogs are indeed true pigs, javelinas belong to a totally separate family of mammals.

Incorrect. Javelina are indeed native game animals. They also have a season in some parts of Texas. Hunting from a public roadway is always illegal.

But go ahead and ignore the good advice everyone here is giving you.
calm down the chance i go back to that job there and those fuckers are out again is one on a million

That’s javelina. Game animal that requires a hunting license with a $7 archery endorsement. Illegal to hunt across (from) a public roadway. There is a hunting season for javelina but for South Texas it’s all year long (through August 2020) - SEE SPECIFIC county restrictions. But for the counties between Bryan/College Station and Houston, it’s open all year long. Two possession limit. It will cost you time, money and hunting possessions if you’re caught hunting from a land vehicle on public roads.

They are NOT rodents. They are artiodactyls (even-toed ungulates) like deer, pronghorn, cattle, and pigs. They have hooves.

Call up a Game Warden if you doubt the good advice you've been given which would've been a better move than to ask here anyway.......
