I've only been here 4 1/2 years, but I believe I may be more Texan then anyone wanting to move to California.

I think every immigrant should spend a mandatory 6 months in the Permian Basin. No lack of work there for those that are willing.
Austin and other metro areas would be better off .

It's sad as hell to see the state of gun laws in CA. I've been on CalGuns for 8 years, and in just that time the laws have gotten even more draconian. They're at the point that they don't want to sell ANY gun outside of the state, just because of the hassle of getting another one back in.

Tell your buddy ain't NO female worth it.

    Dallas Texas or so
I am wondering what will happen if (when) LTCs become national reciprocity like Dls. Would someone from another state just passing through but carrying be subject to mag restrictions?

Not sure, but you can probably be sure California will do most anything to mess with it.

As a recent CA escapee who spent 4 decades there, I'd be happy to convince your friend why his plan is a bad one...bad plan even if he wasn't moving to CA lol

Glad to see his sanity hasn't completely left him.

    Wrong.

He needs to tell her he is staying in Texas and she can make her choice.

If she wants to be there she won't be happy here. If he wants to be here he won't be happy there.

    Yep.
Also, I wouldn't let my gun go there to get registered.

    Hi OP,

As a new member (today), I find this topic quite timely.
I'm an "all my life" Californian, who is selling my house and moving to Texas - due to many things - with firearms laws toward the very top of the list.

The calguns.net flow-chart is good to start with, as well as this link:
    http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/forumdisplay.php?f=71

Post your same question there and you will gain all the info your buddy needs.

    :)
