From a quick look around it looks like the Tapco Slot Brake is probably one of the best for around 20 bucks.

Do you guys know of anything else I should check out?

Are you looking for a flash hider or muzzle brake, the tapco is a flash hider disguised as a muzzle brake

A brake. I saw a video of this compared to a few others, and the vertical climb reduction looked quite noticeable.

For twenty dollars and the price of a crush washer the tapco brake would guide you to whether you want a brake or not; brakes are louder.

You could always step up in quality later down the line, I wouldn’t put a tapco anything on a high quality build; for a budget build why not?

Ebay offers a lot of selections in your budget. Just enter your thread pitch in the search bar followed by "brake" and there will be plenty to choose from. I had the Tapco slot brake on a Draco pistol for a temporary amount of time. It just didn't do it for me and I went to the cone type brake.
