Bugles Across America, NFP was founded in 2000 by Tom Day, when Congress passed legislation stating Veterans had a right to at least 2 uniformed military people to fold the flag and play taps on a CD player.


That's right ... a cd player.


Tom pulls 10k from his own pocket to keep this project going.

Years ago when I was stationed at Fort Campbell, KY, I was a funeral OIC. They ran out of buglers and gave me a tape. I was stunned and humiliated for the Army. Luckily, the American Legion found a trumpet player at a local high school. This is awesome.

I did Color Guard in high school ROTC and in boot camp.

The story was a good one that made me proud. Proud of our veterans and non veterans that volunteer their time to give our fallen the honor they are due.

I was fortunate to have a bugler for both my father (509th Airborne WW2) and my mothers (Navy Cryptologist WW2) funeral.

The bugler was a volunteer from the local VFW that knew both my parents.

The lack of support by the government is shameful.
