I have had the Bushmaster BA 50 for about 5 years and on more than one occasion, I have found the bipod too freaking short for shooting prone and some times off the bench. I was shooting in the Hill Country this weekend and again, from the bench I was unable to comfortably get the elevation I needed as the steel targets were up the side of the hill at 400, 500 and 600 yards.

I have looked in vain for aftermarket bipods that will fit.

Does anyone know about an aftermarket adjustable bipod?

Or am I going to just have one fabricated or fabricate one myself?

    TIA.....

I ordered a bipod for my AR-50 from Allied Precision Arms.

It's not adjustable but I never found one that was that I liked. The height seems to be about right though.

At one time Allied was making adjustable legs for them but said they stopped because they weren't selling. Took years to clear out the stock and not worthwhile to machine. Might be worth it for you to make your own though. The bipod is build like a tank.

Not sure what mount you have. These are made to fit the rail on the Armalite but I'm pretty sure they seek mounts for different rifles.

When I had the Armalite AR50, I looked at those YG, and thanks for your help. I ended up selling it for the Bushmaster, some day, I will pony up for a Barrett.....

Dawico and YG this is the current attachment point which is basically a threaded stud.....attached to the barrel shroud/handguard....

There doesn't seem to be much available.

You do have some options though.

Add a Picatinny rail or sling stud behind it and go with a commercial option.

Make an extended sleeve that slides over the feet and legs.

Those avoid actually altering that bipod.
