Wife has a coworker whose husband recently died and she is fixin to sell some of the inventory.
One thing that caught my eye is a M1 Garand and possibly a Charles Daly compact 1911
    Asking $1,500 for M1, 600 for Daly

High for the Garand unless it's something special. Take more pictures and post on a Garand group / board.

I'd have a hard time doin' over $400 for a CD. The M1 - MIGHT be worth it, but IMO she's at the top of the price point, especially without a LOT more details.

You van buy nice Garands from the CMP for $730 right now, so that one is priced a bit high, the pistol is on the high end as well. Is she trying to get the retail prices he paid for them?

Yes, the M1 could be worth that much, but as other have stated......need way more information....even the stock should be evaluated/researched for proper value to be achieved.....

If it is a run of the mill mismatched Springfield, no way....

and the CD is $200.00 over priced....imho.....

    viking_in_texas,

Fwiw, just yesterday, I sold my 1942 Springfield Arsenal & depot rebuilt Garand for 900.oo cash to one of our GREAT forum members. = FAIR PRICE for BOTH of us, too.
(1500.oo is WAY HIGH, unless it's MINT & has RARE parts, in my honest opinion.)

Fwiw, a fellow that I know in Austin had (or had the last time that I saw him) a circa 1960 H&R M1 Garand in NICE shape for the same 900.oo cash that I sold mine for. = SHOP AROUND for a fair price is my honest advice.

    yours, satx

As much as I love the Garand, that is too much, never cared for 1911's so, I have no opinion...(I do but I think you get the gist!)...

All righty, seems everybody is on the Don't Buy side.
Fair enough. The rifle isn't all that special, just became aware of it. No problem letting it go.

    viking_in_texas,

A fellow in a nearby town has (or at least recently had) a nice Garand by H&R for sale at 900.oo. = The same price as I recently sold my Garand to one of our forum members for.

Garands keep soaring up there... glad I bought mine 5 years ago. From the picture that one looks to be at least 500 to 600 over priced. If it is market price now, I might be letting mine go soon.
