They will be phased out completely by 2035.

Don't get me wrong, this is a completely stupid idea that is nothing more than a way to divert attention away from their piss poor forest management skills and that denies you the freedom to choose what you want to drive, but it will be interesting to see what kind of effect this has on the US auto industry. Electric cars are getting better, and really the only thing holding them back is the batteries.

By 2035 I'm hoping they won't outlaw/confiscate my petrol powered cane! I can see it now... I'm between the garage and the house and have to call a tow truck/battery charger to make it home!

Heard this this AM, and first thought was, "You f'ng idiot. Your economy is in the toilet, so let's dissolve another million jobs in this state." Absolutely brilliant.

Can't wait to see all the "electric" semi trucks and trailers moving commerce around. Oh wait, there's always the "high-speed" rail.
I am so glad to be out of that ****hole.

Will someone please tell me their plan on battery waste?
Probably the same plan they have for human waste.
Dated a girl whose father was a cotton farmer. He has several thousand acres of cotton, or at least he did until the state shut off the water. He now farms "feces". Yep, it is trucked from Los Angeles north to his property where he spreads it out and dries it out. Not sure what happens after that. I guess it pays well, but not optimal use of land and the smell :(
