Depends on the tow vehicle I guess. Most of those look to be lightweight axles, and the front carrier doesn't look like it holds much more than a pick up bed. So if it's the same weight you could put in your pickup bed, the only real stress will be on the trailer. The truck will handle the tongue weight just fine.

A Class 4 hitch is only rated for 1k tongue weight with 10k GTW. FYI

Perfect. Please share the build with us!!
First order of business is a bike restraint system.

I opted for the Pit Bull TRS setup.

    https://www.pit-bull.com/motorcycle-trailer-restraints

Pricey, but easy to use, very secure and works well in tight spaces.

The one dissppointment I have is just how narrow the trailer is. Inside dimensions are 5'8" x 11'6". My KTM Adventure is 22" wide and over 7' long. Shes a big girl. And I need to carry two of them.

So bike #2 may load ass-end first. Need to see with a bike and put away tape measures.

I have some tim to get paint on the floor.

Called a Line-X dealer and was quoted $12/sqft ... more if the trailer floor needs prep work.

    Does that sound right?

The Pit Bull system looks nice. No straps is very good.

Ordered on Sunday and arrived today.

On the dirt bike ... covers the axle nut on the right and then a 3" pin slides into the hole in the axle nut on the left. Very little tolerance and fits really tight.

New tires installed and a new trailer brake battery ordered ...

Figured out my shelving I will install in the nose. It's curved giving me 10" from the door frame and about 20" at the apex of the curved nose.

So I will install 3 pieces of vertical e-track on each side and at the apex of the nose. Insert board holders in the vertical e-track and span the width with a 2x4 or maybe a 2x3. It's only a 5'8" span and not a lot of weight (see illustration below). Then a cripple between the span and apex of the nose with another board holder. Have some 3/4" plywood flooring left over from another project so it should be plenty stout.

Next up getting the parts together for the shelving and get the floor coated.

In hindsight, I should have gone further up the wall 18" or so.

But I'm very pleased with the work the young man did.

    Progress made today.

The trailer restraint system is installed.

It's a tight squeeze to get both 1290s in the space. Have an inch or so clearance between wall and hand guard.

Bikes are offset so that engine guards, footpegs and bars dont hit.

Install the restraint hangers on each side. Moved the spare tire up by the side door because it interfered loading the bike on the right side

Got the framework for the shelf in the nose completed as well.

    Getting close .... shelves completed

Top shelf is 15", the bottom is 10".

8' e-track attached to the wall.

I don't think I've seen a spare set up on the inside like that, but at least you're carrying a spare. With that ramp, hopefully you have torsion axles too. That should make for a smooth ride.

Check out Summit racing. They have all sorts of stuff made to mount to the walls of a trailer like that.

The spare tire mount is an 18" piece of 1/8 x 2" flat stock with all thread welded on and screwed to the wall.

I used the trailer aid to support the weight.

The trick I've found is to align the studs, start the lugs and cock tire. Then slide the TA underneath and then against the wall.

Also, with the tire at the door, one doesn't have to unload the trailer in order get to the spare.

With a tandem axle, I like to have 2 spares. So many times whatever created a flat on one, will take out the other.
