    Flipped through the November American Rifleman and saw this under their Americas rejected caliber article, .35 cal, but they failed to mention this round in particular. I'm assuming its .35 cal, since it was in a group pic of .35 cal cartridges, and am also assuming its been looong out of production lol.

    Anyone know what it is? That gigantic rim has me wondering what it was supposed to be shot out of.

    Gunz are icky.
    Best guess is probably one of the Maynard calibers. Maybe a .44-70?

    I'd bet the one directly to the right is a .401 Winchester Self-Loading and the further to the right being a .351 Winchester Self-Loading.
