California use to many years ago, be a pretty conservative state, with some fairly decent gun laws, pretty much in line with many other conservative states, even Texas.

The have became what we see now, in just, I'd say a couple of generations of voters.

Too many fleeing California, end up taking their politics and political ideology with them when they move to another state. Sad, but true.

    Out here by the lake!
My dad was stationed in Las Vegas during his Army Air Corps training during WW II. Even back then Commiepornia was known as the land of fruits & nuts. That’s a lot of people over a very longtime that did nothing!

Texas has its share of flecks of shit politicians. 3 president’s from Texas come to mind! 2 of whom I voted for. New World Order Bush & his namesake were really not to far off of Johnson’s Great Society debacle.

I was just a little kid during Johnson, but my dad hated him. I myself voted for the 2 lesser of two evil shrubs. Watching them shrubs & how the acted with Trump really opened my eyes to just how rigged politics are.

I think we all can agree that the major cities-of all states are the liberal hot beds of America. People either wake the phuc up, or become “woke”!

The big thing is in my mind is can “woke mofo’s wake the phuc up!

Politics is a business. That business is power.

Republicans and Democrats aren’t all that much different - they’re both in it for the betterment of the party.

They don’t care about the people, as long as they can consolidate power.

And neither party wants to upset the apple cart, they’ll never allow another party in on things. They system is rigged to keep these two parties in control.

Honestly I believe each party needs the other. They keep people focused on the boogeyman on the other side of the aisle, “you need us to protect you from the boogeyman”.

Two parties makes dividing the vote easier. You’re with us, or you’re with them.

I have zero trust in any politician. Zero.

We may identify with the stated ideals of one party or another. But neither one has our best interests in mind. And behind the scenes they’re working against our best interests.

We forget that not so long ago many parts of Texas did not even bother with Republican primaries and such. Texas was 90% southern yellow dog democrat. We were conservative as the day is long, yet proud of our man the POS LB Johnson. The democrat party abandoned Texas after we took the blame for killing one of their favorite sons. However it happened we found ourselves more aligned with the R's than the D's. The more commie the D's get the more we hate them.

Some of you may know I have claimed Cali as a home state. I'm an Air Force brat born in Florida, turned 3 in South Carolina, then Laon France for a few years. Where Dad went we went, and he got stationed to a movie studio in the Hollywood hills. He was a photographer. In 1964 he passed away. We moved to Tyler to be closer to family but it snows in Tyler. My Mom didn't like snow and back we went to So Cal. 10 years later I joined the Air Force. So I claim California since I lived there the longest, almost a decade. Mom was an Okilahoma gal, Dad was all East Texas. I came to Houston after the service {1978}. I love Texas but am not blind to the rest of this great country. There are a few states where I could be happy but I have family here. Much of this country is as or more pretty as Texas. Except when the Bluebonnets bloom. No place is better. I hate to see what Houston has become under D only control.

    YES THEY CAN!
I was born in D.C. , but grew up in Maryland. In the 50's 60's and early 70's it was a conservative and gun friendly State. We became overwhelmed by Northern Liberals and indoctrinated 'teachers' union' Political Action Committees. Teachers unions started paying Union representatives from the trades hundreds and even thousands of $$$$ to attend COPE meetings at resort Hotels, all expenses payed. Maryland is a small State. It was completely overrun and assimilated into 'the collective'.
I refuse to be assimilated, so I moved to Texas, and HERE I make my stand.

This is so true... when I was a kid in the 60's, most Texans had ancestry here, going back generations, with the exceptions usually being military.

Even Texas dialects were unique, Houston didn't sound quite like Dallas and Dallas didn't sound quite like Lubbock... People used to not move around so much, and states, not only Texas, were nations with proud nationalities that went way deeper than football.
Listening to that nasal accent of west Texas was like chalk on a blackboard when one of us got on tv. Growing up in central Texas (not the I-35 kind. Mercury is the center of Texas) I never developed that screech.

My sister, mom and nephew moved from California to East Texas in 2019 and brought 3 MAGA votes with them.

I think my sister and mom are involved with her local Republican party.

Californians can if the wrong ones migrate there, but so can home grown Texans. Washington and Oregon turned blue on their own. The majority of state representatives and the govenors are from those states. The idiology of the marxists is destroying our country. We have to fight and win the culture war.

    Soon to be Texan

BELIEVE me, there are PLENTY of low-information voters in every state...
    Cali is inundated with them...

"THEY" are full of ignorance, and "fells" (Internet Meme'd "FEELINGS")) run high on the DERP...
No bigger-picture thoughts, just "my truth" and "feelz"...

They care-not for single mothers, having to live in sh!+hole place (due to cost of living), where they need to defend their children...

    Hold them horse now....

If CA is importing loonies - how was the 3 or 4 of biggest metros already blue before I arrived last year??? I certainly can't blame the opinion that SOME PRK relocations aren't good for what Texas has historically represented. But you can't / shouldn't paint us all with the same brush.

My wife and I are true political asylum seekers from the PRK - and certainly not CCCP card-carrying freakin' commies. When I had the chance to take a muni-job here and bug out - despite a massive $50k+ pay cut - I took it. The quality of life, costs and gorgeous weather / landscape / people / roads / lakes / ranges / etc. are everything I remembered from previous work visits and conventions.

The problem may be with some of the member's thinking on this forum as it may undermine the relocation of solid reenforcements of good conservatives, God-fearing people who arrive thinking they've reached the promised land. I don't know for sure - such thinking could have impacted my employment...

So - instead of helping out the Red vote in Texas - I get to piss away my vote back in the PRK (my old employer was ecstatic things didn't work out here).

I'm **truly** besides myself to leave - despite the wife, daughter (who's still in college back there), family, friends, work and Guard loving the prospect of my return. Moving back means another 10 years to finish out retirement, and I will have re-evaluate if it's TN, TX or another state. My preference still is Texas.

Not everyone who comes into Texas is a turncoat or carpetbagger.
