Eagle Gun Range in Farmers Branch has several Caniks for sale. Dunno if your preferred model is among them. Call them up, I guess?

Man, thanks a bunch for the offer, Darkpriest! I've been to TXgunrange and like that place also. I'm still on the fence about the Canik, but if my consumeristic impulsive buyer's desire increases like it's prone to do, I'll definitely take you up on that offer.

Well I went to the Fall meet up down by Kileen and one of our guys Pr0nstar there had just bought his and I shot it and literally drove home and ordered one. It's probably the best pistol I've ever shot. Just give me a pm if you ever want to go down to TXgunrange and shoot it! Just bring lots of ammo cause you won't want to stop shooting it!

We need some perspective here... Have you ever shot any of the following:
    1) M&P with Apex's forward set trigger
    2) A decent 1911
    3) Walther PPQ
    4) SAO P226
    5) any SIG worked over by Grayguns

I have been carrying my TP9SF Elite for about a year now. I agree with the OP, it is a great firearm. Are there better guns out there?? Yes, but not at this price point. IMO, the trigger on the Walther PPQ is nowhere near the SF series pistols.. and yes, I own both.

    1) customized trigger (hah not a stock gun) I've fired Apex trigger sets before (on different guns) they're good but they're also not stock and it's 170 dollars. I hate the flat feel of the Apex triggers.
    2) I've fired probably 30 1911s and 5 or 6 were competition 1911s none of them have as good of a trigger
    3) Yes, the triggers are similar, the price point is not. I think the TP9SF has a better trigger THAT IS TOTALLY SUBJECTIVE!
    4) SAO P226 is a competition gun, I've fired it... It's good, not as good as the Shadow 2... again price point
    5) So you want another competition trigger job.. I've fired a dozen SIGs, they're good guns, and again.. the price point does matter. I've never fired anything that I know of worked over by Grayguns. Their kit only adds 100 dollars to an already more expensive SIG.

If I have to shoot a SIG I prefer the P229 (although I do not mind and even like shooting the 320 and 226) if it is a full size or compact. I've thought about getting a P938, but damn I already own a shield and a glock sub compact 9mm. I will say the 938 has a better trigger than my 43 or shield(1.0.) But again price, the 938 is 150 bucks more than a glock 43 (MSRP I got my 43 for like 440 bucks) and 350 dollars more than my shield.

So the guy mentions 4 competition guns and the 1911... I wonder if HES fired the TP9SF. I got my Canik for 309 dollars after FFL fee and shipping. I really really recommend you come fire it!

 I wasn't making an argument over value; just wanted to know your frame of reference when you said it's the best pistol you ever shot.

Is your opinion on it being a good shooting pistol factoring in the value or independent of it?

Obviously the PPQ is the most similar pistol to the TP9SF as they are both evolutions from the P99, so if you and Ozzman both say the TP9SF is better regardless of price that is a dang good endorsement.

Well, my thought process is guns like the CZ Shadow might be better (although I dont really think it is) but I can get 5000 rounds of 9mm for the price differential. I like the TP9SF. If you come to the Spring meet you can shoot mine or Pronstars and tell us what you think!

I shot it at the reunion and thought it was pretty nice. I would definitely pay $300 or whatever they are going for

I'm holding out for a sale on the SF Elite, but I agree. For under $350 retail, it's hard to beat. Yeah the SW9VE is dead reliable, but the triggers are on a completely different level.
