Would The Moonpie excommunicate me from the Church of Single Action for this?

Did smearing a little dab of polishing compound on the moving parts go out of style? Seen it done quite a bit back in the old six gun days. Never seemed to hurt em any. Maybe got a bit sweeter pull on the Colts.

The triggers on the SRH will smooth out, you just have to shoot enough to make it happen.;)[/QUOTE]

Exactly. Better finishing/parts fitting etc. Thank you for proving my point.

As for Ruger only loads....Ruger cylinders are typically longer than Smith so therefor they are able to accept cartridges with a longer OAL. Rugers are not physically "stronger" than Smiths. They are more or less the same. The cast Rugers have to be larger/bulkier to equal Smiths hammer forging. With all that said I have owned a few Ruger DA's and find them to be excellent firearms.

So the regular 44 spl GP had caught my eye lately. If I was convinced the carbine would run 44 special reliably that would be my choice.

    I think so. :green:

Missing something important is a requisite part of my daily routine.

We are confronted with too many important things to fully assimilate all.

    Back on topic: Model 29!
I hate frikin' .44mags. They are harsh.
I've bought and sold a half dozen. Have just 3 at the moment. Two are rifles.

Looked down the sights of a Ruger #1 in .44mag today. VERY cool gun.
