Carrying A Handgun In Vehicle

If I'm driving the wifes SUV I just keep with the IWB location.
If I'm driving my car I put the holstered pistol in the center console. Only reason is because the low seating position makes the gun both uncomfortable and harder to access (against the seatbelt) anyways.

I have a small lockbox in both in case I have to go in somewhere that I cannot carry.

Leaving a gun in your vehicle is a terrible idea. BUT, with the plethora of "gun-free zones" that screen out law-abiding citizens from carrying firearms there, it is about the only option available. The only other option would be to leave it at home and not even carry. That could turn out to be even a worse choice

I originally thought I might leave a gun in a vehicle, but after reading some of your thoughts i think it's probably a bad idea. I haven't figured out what I'm gonna do just yet as I don't have a CHL but I think leaving it in the car is not a good option.

It would suck for your gun to get stolen

I think it'd suck worse to need your gun and not have it.

I keep my gun in my truck in my center console whenever I don't have it on my person or at home in the safe.

So how many times a week does your car get broken into ?

Yes it would suck to have a gun stolen. Is it going to ruin my day or make me fear that it might be used in a crime not one bit. Its not my fault there are crooks out there.

Will I do what I can to keep thieves out sure I will but I will not let them dictate my day. Just like I will still fly and not have one worry about some dude with a bomb shoe or diaper.
