Not sure what's going on here. The official website is www.cars.gov. I went to it and put in my Chevy truck to see if it would qualify. No disclaimer came up about signing in, etc. or that my computer would be taken over. Maybe Jon's got his tinfoil wrapped too tight today.

It may have been corrected if it was unintentional. I gave them credit for being devious, but maybe it was standard legal mumbo jumbo and was removed once Beck and the others got ahold of it.

Possible, but not sure. I do know when I go to the govt website to check my Navy retired pay, there is a disclaimer that the info belongs to the govt, but no mention of them hacking in to my computer, just verifying any messages that I send to the administrator.

The cash for clunkers problem has to do with tthe car dealerships side. When THEY sign in to turn in cars, They, the dealer, get the warning. It only affects them, not the casual consumer who is just checking out the site.

Hanlon's Razor. Never attribute to conspiracy or malice that which can be explained by sheer stupidity. Or something like that.
