For the life of me I can not get the castle nut off of my M&P 15T!! I am trying to install an ambidextrous sling attachment and can not get that thing to budge? Any suggestions? Any shops around town that can take it off for me. I don't want to tear it up anymore than I already have.

I went to Top Brass and got a spanner/armorers wrench and used force, I even hit it with a mallet. Which did no good either.

I noticed it was staked at two positions.

Any help will greatly be appreciated.

    Thanks.

Small punch will move some of the displaced metal back into place. They may have used loctite so it may require heat in order to be removed.

No matter how much force you use if you don't have a well mounted vice and lower action block it's difficult to get things moving.

I'm in the Downtown area but I will travel, not to Dallas or Austin or anything like that but I can do Katy or La Porte.

Try Texas Tactical Gear over at 45 and Dixie Farm Road (15255 Gulf Freeway, Suite 139-A, (281) 484-0800)
Not only can they get it off but if you mangled it badly enough to want to replace it, they have castle nuts in stock.
