REMEMBER: Cell Phone Numbers Go Public today

REMINDER... all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing
companies tomorrow and you will start to receive sale calls.

... YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS

To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone:
    888-382-1222.
It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a minute of your
time. It blocks your number for five (5) years. You must call from the cell
phone number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a different
    phone number.

HELP OTHERS BY PASSING THIS ON TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS.. It takes about 20
    seconds.
    or go to http://www.donotcall.gov/

I didn't think it looked all that official even when I first got that email in 1983.

Wow! Since 1983? It's the 1st time I ever saw it.
The original email didn't look all that official but the link it refered to did, IMHO. Guess I'm more gullible than I thought.
I hate it when I make stupid posts!:banghead:

1983 just sounded a lot funnier than any more recent year.

But it's been around a while. It's kind of died over the last year or maybe it's a newer version. Who knows, but 1983 a PC running DOS 1.0 cost about $28,500. So I wasn't getting email anyway.

    Here's the helpful tip:

There is about a 99% certainty ANY email that includes something resembling the phrase "Forward this to everyone you know" is bogus. Do your friends a favor and don't.

Oh BTW, welcome to the Internet and congratulations on your new computer.

1983...........ah.........anybody remember that Commodore had just come out with the "Commodore 64"???? It had 1.02 mhz processor and 64k of memory......seriously, those were the specs, re-read that. That was before we all got the GUI's.....you had to log onto BBS's.

I remember that we'd start to download the simplest game......go out for the night......get back and it was just finishing the download. Sub-7k modems.....attrocious (sp?) graphics.
