OK, but how thick is the ice layer? We had freezing rain/snow/sleet off and on for 3 days, resulting in a half in thick layer of ice on cars, porches, firewood stacks, etc. How much have you guys had to chip through?

I only live 1.8 miles from work. Saw these on my lunch.

I’ve had a ice scraper under my seat for a decade. Hardly ever get to use it. (Thankfully).

When I moved to Houston in 2000 I was the only one with a scraper at the condo parking. Everyone just started their cars and waited for the defroster to work.

Lost some major limbs and (ultimately) one tree in the deep freeze a couple of years ago. Thankful it was not worse.

Me too. I had to have all of my trees trimmed to remove the dead stuff. All of them came back to some degree, but all had dead stuff in them except the live oaks.

It's been some nice fireplace weather. Yesterday I had to go out, so I wore my cool weather hunting pants. I thought I'd get some funny looks, but most of the few people I saw out were guys, and most of them had their hunting gear on to some degree. That was the most laid-back outing I've had in a while. Almost no traffic and everyone at the store was polite.
