Yep, I've been practicing on an old barrel, turning threads, reaming chambers for about a month now. Started with 22 inches and now at 8 inches! LOL

I decided it was time, so I got one of my barrel blanks in 6mm and started to work.

I now have a fresh barrel for my Benchrest Rifle chambered in 6PPC, ready to break in and shoot some, hopefully, small groups.

I've been watching and taking mental notes for many years, while my Gunsmith performed the operations. Now it was my turn.

Looks like my "Craigslist" lathe will be a keeper. I bought it over a year ago and just now getting time to play with it.

Now waiting on my 9 x 49 vertical milling machine to arrive. My shop is almost complete now.

I've got an old Large Ring Mauser 98 that I spun a barrel onto years ago. Would love to have the tooling at my disposal to pull that barrel and spin on a new one, at will.
