4 week Civil Case was decided in Virginia 4 of 6 charges decided. Case revolves around “alt right” rally in 2017. $26 million in damages against defendants.

Groups on trial included League of the South and four other “white supremacy “ groups. Centered around comments about violence and hate speech. Also acts of intimidation supposedly surrounding protesters and saying ugly things to them.

Defense attorneys are planning to appeal the dollar amount of the award, which is in excess of the amount allowed under Virginia law.

I wonder how judgement proof the defendants are. Not a whole lot of people or entities can cough up $26M, even on a lifetime payment plan.

The article mentions near the bottom that the judgement exceeds what is allowed. No mention of what that limit is.

One would think they took action prior to the jackassery to limit losses.

Doesn’t matter what the limit is if you’re broke AF as an organization and have no way to generate income.
