Get something mid-range price wise. Going as cheap as possible is a waste of money and will just leave you frustrated.

Buy from a reputable retailer too especially if you don't know what you are looking at. Lots of knock offs floating around.

Watch the good deals gun thread for good products on sale.

I would recommend Primary Arms (.com) for entry level dots or scopes. They are reasonably priced and offer good products.

PS Why is this in the Introductions section?

I like a particular online (Massive inventory) dealer reading reviews about Red Dot sights and a startling number claiming they received a fake, I have to agree about the reputable dealer. Whether true or not I do not know but the cost is just to great (for me) to gamble on.
