Where are the best Chicken and Dumplings in town?

Tried the Texas Cafeteria on Shepherd and 24th, near 610 North, last Tuesday. Was pretty good but not great. Their rolls are out of this world. Would like to find something to write home about.

If you yourself in that area, they make a decent breakfast for 1.99 and chicken fried steak lunch with salad and 2 sides for 5.25. Food is good.

Is there a cracker barrel around, they have good home cooking.

Kelly's Country Cooking has some of the better comfort foods with huge portions. I'm not sure if the do chicken & dumplings, but my guess is yes.

Kelly's has a really good breakfast with huge portions. It's been a while since I've eaten there. Some restaurants only have c&d on a certain day of the week.

Cracker Barrel. Ug. Yet another bulk food prep, large chain trying to be "home town".

Real diners with real food don't have share holders.

Try "Grandmas" in Lexington. It will make the "Cracker Barrel" look like c-rats! MG
