So now that I've got my Texas DL, I'm ready to start the CHL process. The government side of things looks straightforward, but does anyone have recommendations for CHL instructors or classes in or near Austin?

I'm just slightly southwest Austin, if it matters, Thanks.

I used this guy I met named Randy.
He came to my house and did a 1 on 1 class with me. He was great. His cost includes the range as well.

This is his number, (361) 205-1035

Central Texas Gun Works are strong supporters of our gun rights - they're on 71. Id highly recommend giving them a call.

Yeah, I'm hearing Centex pretty much everywhere, I dropped by there today and got the info I needed.

I'm heading to the saturday class, the sig I ordered gets there before then (all my guns are still in CA, no idea how to move them (without violating moving company pod contracts)).

I didn't realize that Centex's range was out in the country area without a lick of shade, but other than that, I passed, he said 242/250, but I chewed the center of the target out, so who knows.

My new P229 (don't have any of my guns from CA) had a few hiccups about 30 rounds in. (3 FTEs), casing left in chamber.
