CHL class

    Im needing to know what the shooting test consists of for the C.H.L. class. An also what all i need to have done before the class to be able to get license, was told finger prints, what all do i need an how i go about getting all of it done

    Here's a link to the DPS site. TxDPS - Concealed Handgun Licensing Pretty straight forward- do the application and submit with your payment. Schedule and get your fingerprints done, and locate a CHL instructor of your choice. Some will include photos to send in, some do not.

    If you can hit the paper you can almost always pass.

    True. It's more about demonstrating safety than being a marksman.

    For half the round you can almost reach out and touch the target. They are interested in safety and knowledge more that marksmanship. Which is also mostly useless as there is no requirement that you carry what you shoot, unless its a revolver.

    I took the CHL class first and was able to ask questions to make sure I had everything in order. This would also be the time to make darn sure you are eligble because the money for the application is non-refundable.
