I was arrested in July of 2008 for a 2nd degree felony, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The case was never Indicted. The case was completely dismissed. All Charges from the State of Texas were dropped, so there was no type of conviction, probation, deferred adjudication etc. The victim did not press charges. I believe it's not on my record b/c It never even got indicted and when filling out applications for apartments my past 2 leases did background checks and they have not said anything about seeing it on my record.
Ive been arrested for a felony, but there was no conviction or even indictment of any kind.

Am I eligible for a CHL??

You are eligible, but you will need to include a CERTIFIED copy of the dismissal order from the court when you apply.

To see the eligibility requirements look at Texas Government Code 411 (h).
