So I just moved to TX from MA, where I held an MA LTC. Is there any way to transfer it? Or do I have to take the class?

Check if your MA license is accepted here in Taxes. Without checking it most likely is, but check to make sure. I'm pretty sure that gives you until the end of your MA license to get a Texas license. You will eventually need to apply and take the Texas program to get the Texas CHL. It's not all that bad, but it does set you back a few bucks.

Be sure to check to see if your MA license requires you to actually reside in that state. It may not be if you change your address to a different state.

From other comments I've read, it's best to get your TX DL and permanent address in the system first, then apply for the CHL.
