I thought I had seen something previously but couldn’t find anything now. Is there a state prohibition on city parks or local ordinances put in place locally? Also, anyone see anything about being open or concealed?

    Helotes!

    Straight from DPS...

    7. Does the law prohibit the licensed carrying of a handgun in a public park?

No. Texas law does not specifically address any prohibitions against a license holder from carrying a handgun in public park.
License holders should note that some public parks are federal property and are subject to federal laws. To determine if a park is a federal property, see Army Corp of Engineers.

Also, prior to H.B. 1927 (2021), a city could prohibit anyone other than a handgun license holder from carrying a firearm in a city park. Tex. Atty. Gen. Op. No. DM-364 (1995). After the bill’s passage, a city can’t prohibit anyone who is lawfully carrying a firearm from bringing it into the park...

Thanks. I thought I had seen local cities had prohibitions on their websites years ago but didn’t see anything now, makes sense.
