    It's a federal offense to tamper with any emissions component.

    Next best thing to do is the temp test.

    Huh.. I was recently told it's no big deal to just cut them out.. I have never dealt with any emissions parts so I am largely ignorant to any legal ramifications for modifying them.. I read about a lot of people just smashing the guts out of them so it looks like the cat is there.. I have no intentions of doing that.. It's there for a "reason" plus it's cheap to replace on my civic
