College Station

How many members do we have from the College Station area? Have been thinking of getting a range day together out at Gunsmoke. Or a another outdoor range near by if anyone knows one that has a better rifle range (i hate the baffling on their 100yrd range).

As of now we are planning on <strike>Feb 2, 2013</strike> Feb 9,2013 at 11am out at gunsmoke. Respond to this thread with how many are going to be in your party. Would like to get a head count for them to see if we can get a deal.

I'm having a house built up there right now, but it wouldn't be finished until June or July. Still in League City for now.

There's also Arrowhead, north of Bryan, although the place isn't all that great. Cheaper than Gunsmoke, though.

Does Arrowhead still have their rifle range, i was told they shut it down to avoid have to put of the baffles after they were threatened with a lawsuit.

Ill go out to Gunsmoke this week and see if they would do some kind of a group deal for us, they are kind of expensive otherwise.

I'd be interested. I live in Waco, but I still come down to B/CS once or twice a month to visit my dad.

That's the only problem I have with Gunsmoke (apart from their skeet): They charge hourly and you have to hang your own targets, so a lot of your time is wasted waiting for other shooters to hang their targets, or just walking down range in itself. It's easy to eat up a few hours at Gunsmoke, shooting what would only take 45min at any other range.

I'm up this way too but would like to check out the ranges in B/CS. If enough people get together i will do what i can to make it.

I need to know about how many people we might expect to be there. If its just one or two then it wont be any different but if there is a lot of us then they will work with us.

I'm sill interested, but the date is important. My weekends have been pretty busy lately as I got engaged over the holidays and am now enjoying the process if planning a wedding. I just need plenty of advance notice.
