The "Hollywood, CA" marking looked odd.

What Colt didn't say in their announcement, the Dept of Defense awarded Colt a $41.9 million contract to manufacture rifles for sales to militaries in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, South Asia, Oceania and the Caribbean.

They definitely have their hands full with those contracts.

Does Colt no longer making rifles for the civilian market increase available inventory value?

I've said it before, anyone can make "mil-spec". If you are a company planning on bidding on a military contract, you would manufacture to at least the military's minimum standard in size and/or longevity. It has nothing to do with being the best out there. In fact, if you were to make something better, the cost of making it better may put your company out of the bidding for that contract.

I laugh when I hear people say things like "actual mil spec", but often companies will use that as a selling point to make it sound like "therefore it must be good!"
Never said mil spec was the best. If I were building a rifle on par with Colt, I would use similar parts. I would not use, say an Anderson LPK.

My point was that you can build a similar spec’d rifle for less so why buy an overpriced Colt.

Quick glance on GB has 6920s averaging $1200. I can build a pretty decent rifle for that money.
