So my humble opinion is that the SCOTUS is likely to stay at 9. Hopefully the GA runoffs will go well, but I also have my fingers crossed Manchin will stick to his word and vote down dissolving the filibuster and packing the court if it doesn't. With that said I think it's unlikely that Biden will get his gun grab wish list fulfilled. I could see another version of the '94 AW ban, but I believe existing firearms would be grandfathered in. If, and it's a big 'IF', ARs are subject to NFA, I will likely register them as SBRs. According to the ATF guidance, you can slap a long barrel on an SBR and then stick the short barrel back on without violating any law, so I could just have barrels ranging from 8.5" to 22". And frankly, I'd kind of like to see the expression on Biden's dumbfounded mug when he realizes he just turned 16,000,000+ long guns into fairly easily concealable firearms.

When you buy a new gun say from Sig for example, you fill out a warranty form online with them. This allows them to know you have the gun if it needs repair. I don't know if that is registration with the government? Any body know if gun manufacturers send that to the government?

I have mentioned it before and I will again: if those scary rifles become nfa, do not comply. It’s a clear violation of our second amendment. Think I’m wrong? Our rights are not based off being able to pay to use them. Demanding people fallow the law while demanding each rifle be subject to 200 bucks will be a financial burden and cause people to surrender firearms because they can’t afford it. Not to mention no compensation. Clear as glass it’s bullshit and I will tell y’all right now do not comply with such an unlawful and unethical bill. If it passes stand your ground. Let them take those guns from your cold dead hands.

Look I love this site and all the forums, but stating your opinion here does no good other than to entertain us all. If you want to be heard be a pest. I call and email my elected officials at the state and federal level frequently on issues that concern me. If we all do that I guarantee we will be heard because the number one goal of any poliutician is to be reelected regardless of party.

What would you do if that doesn’t work?

I put in my input to lawmakers through the FPC and GOA at every chance I get. It certainly helps, though that can only go so far. Bottom line, I'm not surrendering jack ,no matter what law they come up with, Like the democraps just ignored immigration laws they didn't agree with, I'll be doing the same with any gun laws.

He can do a lot by EO.

And here's hoping conservative federal judges will have to balls to do what liberal federal judges did repeatedly for the past four years - file injunctions against every EO they can. I've never in my life seen a federal judge wield the power to countermand the President of the United States, but now that the precedent is set, I expect conservatives to make use of it.

Searched but didn't find a specific thread regarding the confiscation or "buy back" of modern sporting rifles and who would be willing to allow this. I was pleasantly surprised
to learn that there are over 19-1/2 million of these rifles in circulation in the US since 1990. Sure, the gov't won't know about your guns unless you register them, but if you don't, it really paints one into a corner. There are very few options at that point. What are y'all's opinion as to who would be doing the forced confiscation for those unwilling to allow registration and compensated confiscation? Are we seriously looking at jackboots kicking in doors? I can't imagine Americans would do that to Americans. After all, these folks are our fathers, husbands, brothers and friends. I've been around the block as many times as most of you folks...and I just don't freaking know what's next.

"Americans" voted for JB...who knows what they are capable of?

To think they can't do it ignores recent history. There were a lot of people (not like AR owner 'a lot') who owned machine guns. They had until May 1986 to get them registered. There was an amnesty period up until then, but after that, if it wasn't in the NFA it was illegal and there was no more amnesty so you couldn't register it later. You became a criminal.

That's the precedent for them to do this. "We'll just add ARs to the registry". Of course, they're so stupid when they say "and magazines", it ruins any chance they had at logic. With no serial number, how'd that happen? We have to form 1 our mags now?

Alternatively, we all own 458SOCOMs that, coincidentally, take a 10 round mag that looks identical to the 30 round PMags.

At some point the law is only enforceable if we let it be enforceable. Federally, marijuana is illegal. yet in a strip center in Colorado they have hours on the door to sell pot. I'm surprised that DEA doesn't tax them weekly by raids and siezures. But they don't. Federally illegal. Feds don't give a shit.

The problem an overzealous O'Biden/Harris admin can create, though, is with the manfs and dealers. They can raise FFLs from $300 to $3000, and make it per year rather than per 3 years. They can make the SOTs $10,000 and a tax stamp $2000...and that's just after they add the ARs to the registry. So the manfs can't make them affordably, and then there are no new ARs (3D printed aside).

And then we can get back on this board and cry about price gougers selling their ARs for $2000. Remember, in 1990 you could still buy a machinegun for $300 plus the tax stamp. Same one now is $8500.

Consider this: Portland mayor wants people to inform the police on neighbors having Thanksgiving meals. Textbook exactly what the Communist Party asked the population to do, inform on their neighbors and family. I know many of you will blast me for this next statement, but 20 years from now.... It will happen here. Make no mistake, and saying it will not will not stop it. The American public education system has for the last 60 - 70 years been teaching the youth of America to move into socialism and communism. We can stop it, but only through serious activism and some very hard sacrifice.

I lived in post WW2 Europe in Italy and Germany as a kid and listened to the people tell stories about what they had to endure as far as the secret police. My father was in the Air Force then and he was very solidly into the history of EUrope as a second generation American himself. My mother had family in Dachau and some in Auschwitz, no survivors there. She was a first generation American, her parents from Lithuania (Russia) and Hungary-Poland told the stories of family who disappeared from 1938 - 1943.

I hope my concerns turn out to be foolish worry. I hope that Joe Biden and K. Harris turn into the best thing for the American public since George Washington. I also know this will not happen.
