The Texas House announced tonight the regular weekly committee meeting schedule. This is *GOLD* for those of us who have specific issues that we're especially tracking.

Even though we don't yet know what weeks a bill may be scheduled for a hearing, we can generally start clearing out our schedule to be available this particular *day* each week.

    SPECIAL NOTES:

NOTE #1 Although there are traditional committees where bill topics usually go (ex., almost all of the gun bills have typically gone to Homeland Security & Public Safety), it is up to the Speaker to decide where to send each bill. Seeing the progress already made, it would not surprise me to start seeing bill assignments this week (or certainly by next week).

NOTE #2: With that caveat, we could expect "right to keep and bear arms" issues to be heard in Homeland Security, but also State Affairs, Public Health (mental health related issues), Criminal Jurisprudence, or Education. All of those are on Wednesday except that CrimJur is on Monday and Education is on Tuesday.

NOTE #3: For the committees that start at 8am: It's typical for the House to have daily sessions at 10am. If a committee hearing starts at 8am, it most likely won't be finished by 10 -- so, they go from about 8-9:45am, then RECESS during session, then resume after session is over. There is NOT a scheduled ending time for session and nobody can predict when it will end. Some are 30-45 minutes, and some are 3, 4, 5 hours...or longer.

    RULE #1: SHOW UP!
