Carry an M&P9c everyday and love it. But if you're a glockophile you won't be disappointed with the gen 4 offerings. Have a G21 gen 4 and love it too.

don't know about the M&P but we've got 2 G19s (gen 4s) - was cleaning a couple of Glocks after my Wife took 'em shooting and thought to myself..."damn, these are so simple" - and, as you know they're really good, reliable shooters

so I'd say...... well, you know

I could never get into Glocks... Boring plus the trigger sucks.

I really like the M&P line. Currently have three different ones and have owned 5 total. It kinda comes down to personal preference, tho.

    Ive never shot a Glock.

The M&P fits me well. The trigger is OK. I find the Shield trigger good.

TheDan, you find the Glock trigger worse than the M&P?

To the OP, the Glock 19 seams to be about a standard for a compact handgun. If youre happy in that world, id stay there unless you get the chance to try an M&P Compact to shoot and are impressed with it.

I've had both, and liked them equally. To me they're pretty much the same gun.

My problem was finding M&P magazines - after ten months of waiting I gave up on S&W and went back to Glock.

    Just my 2 cents.

Mags were a major issue. I got some a few months ago and havent checked supplies since then. Unfortunately it is or was an issue.

I've shot both. They both seemed just as accurate and comfortable.
I own a G19 Gen 4 and the magazines are very easy to find.

I like the grip better on the M&P, but I can't leave guns stock, so the glock wins bc of aftermarket options.

    I carry a M&P 45 ACP as duty sidearm. Before that I carried a Glock 21C.

I have a personal bias towards the M&P series but the Glock is a fine tool. But it does not have a soul.

Definitely. The Glock has a little more noticeable reset than the M&P, but I like the M&P's trigger better overall. As you've noticed, S&W has a couple different "versions" of their M&P trigger. The ones in the Shields are the newest iteration and I'm pretty sure they are shipping all the newer M&Ps with it (except the CORE line :p). As for aftermarket, Apex's trigger kits for the M&P have a much better end result than any upgrade for Glocks.

I am getting the Shield either toniite or tomorrow morning and I dont like the shorter mag that comes with it. I was going to buy the 8 rd mag but sounds like this is an issue, not sure why though...then I saw this....

    I don't care, I'm still getting it.

Shield mags havent been nearly as hard to find as full size or compact mags.

It conceals a little better w the 7 round mag but i shoot it much better with the 8 round mag.
