I have a technical question you could probably help me with. I just bought my wife a new computer and I want to donate her old computer to the less fortunate. Everything works great on the old computer, just a little outdated. I want to format or erase all my information off the computer, not just delete it. I do however want to keep the Windows XP operating system on there so it can be functional for the new owner. What is the best way to do this?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Delete all profiles other that the admininatrator.
Delete the remaining folders of the pofiles after deleting the profiles.
Delete the content or data in My documents of the Administrator.
or create an new admin and delete the original Administrator.
Delete any other folders that data is installed.
Uninstall any programs that are unnecessary.

Run an "erasure' program to safely delete the deleted data.
I use Drive Srcrubber in my IT business but there are other free ones just Google for it.

You can also reinstall Windows if you want. If you reformat you should still need to run an erasure program of free space.
