Hey, no problem. I’m a 1911 addict, got a bunch. Always shot the 45, but things change... age is a factor and my old hands find the 45 recoil hurts. Switched to 9mm and the pain went away but the pleasure remained. Ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

I understand. That is why I sold off my Smith and Wesson 4" .44 magnum. I even had it ported and it didn't help. I was extremely accurate with it. It is just my right palm paid the price for about 45 minutes. So, I sold it. Before that, I sold my .454 Cassul for the same reason. I used to enjoy the recoil. When they hurt like an SOB, I sold them to someone who could enjoy them more. So, I get it. I put a Wilson Combat barrel bushing on my 1911, virtually no recoil. I put a TBRC on my Glock 19, took the snap right out of it. So, if it is that it hurts less to shoot, I get you completely.

My favorite 44 is my Redhawk made in 1999 with a 7 inch barrel.
My redhawk is a 7.5" built in 1981. We should start a redhawk gang

As far as this thread goes, I had a 9mm 1911 (Springfield). It was nice but not my thing. So I ended up selling it. However, Moonpie has some chromed out Colt 1911 in 9mm and that was one outstanding gun. I would buy one of those in an instant.

For me, 9mm has turned into one hell of a boring ass round to shoot. Unless I am shooting it out of a subcompact, I usually lose interest after 50 rounds. His Colt 1911 was one of those 9mms that actually made me want to shoot more 9mm. I guess it all depends on the person

My 1911 was made by a Filipino company, has a double stack mag, and shoots 9mm.

I have a RIA m1911a1 cs fde from same company. I want to get their 22TCM/9mm combination in a commander size. 17 rounds same magazine, just change out barrel.

I have that combo and have been pretty happy with it. Not a big 1911 guy in general but it’s a fun gun to shoot.
