I had a sig 2022 that ended up going to a close friend as he was working in a remote area and needed some protection. I reload 40 s&w and actually like the round.
Now I am in the mood to get something in 40 again.
The glock line comes to mind as I have a glock 45 in my eclectic assortment of firearms which includes Walthers, cz, sig, Taurus and rock island semiautomatics.
Only Smith semiautomatic I own is the m&p 22 compact. So the m&p might be a reasonable option.
The previous generation of walther pps, which I carry in 9, had a 40 but thinking it had dependability issues.
Love cz but finding a 40 might be difficult.
Suggestions sought. Price is a factor as this would be a play thing and perhaps a glove box gun.

    Dont do it..
40 cal is the answer to a question nobody ask...lol
I like the round. It reloads easily as well. I just shoot 180 grain jhp. I have heard many say the same as you and I get the point.

I have threatened to get an m&p many times. I think they are nice looking and seem to be well regarded. Can find a few used ones as well.

    ldhunter1959,

At least yesterday, CLASSIC FIREARMS.COM had some "near new" M&P40 LE trade-ins out of the Durham, NC PD.

IF you like plastic receiver handguns, the condition/price is ATTRACTIVE.
(Personally, I own NO plastic guns. = My EDC is a 9x19mm ZIGANA K, that nearly ALL metal, that I caught on sale "for peanuts". = My MISTAKE was not buying a pair of them.)

    yours, satx

This is probably the wrong thread to say I might have something.

Since you reload, Lee manual says not to reload 40's shot from a Glock because of a ? less supported chamber. Glock bulge and all that. I don't reload 40's so I have no experience but might make a potential change in brand you buy.

When i think 40, I am drawn to the M&P. I owned a 5 inch M2.0 in 40 and it was excellent. Just did not have a use for it at the time and traded it off. The guns I still have in 40 is a P229 made in the 1990s and a P226 west German frame. Both excellent as well.
