Yes it is per day, like the quoted post says.

For some reason the 'official' cdc death reports are two or three years old. Looks like the (per day) daily death rate in the US in 2018 was close to 7,800 per day.

I'll be interested to see how the 2020 death count compares to that of 2019. Probably about the same since the flu was not a factor in 2020.

I've read a few articles on the subject. The excess death rate is estimated to be up ≈ 12%. I'd think a portion of this is from conditions that have gone untreated due to covid and not just from covid.

My BIL did not make it. My sister is a devout Christian as was my BIL. She is faring pretty well all things considered. As it was when my Dad died time was possible to prepare as best one can for a known possible outcome.
