I think it’s a matter of time, if it hasn’t already happened, that some climate nut scientist(s) release a virus to do this.

Just like every other new bug, news media will take the most extreme stance possible in hopes of getting the most views/clicks/subscriptions, etc.

Nobody wants to watch or read about the new bug that’s “kind of like the flu, but probably less deadly”.

Avian Flu, Swine Flu, Ebola, SARS, Anthrax, MERS, AIDS — all blow wildly out of proportion by the media.

The same media none of us trust for their politics, weather forecasts or unbiased journalism, we're now taking them at their word for health issues. C'mon guys.

This was already suggested but no one wants to disrupt the "global economy" so this option will not be considered. Obviously the longer they wait the less effective that option will be.

Why would people traveling to and from China have a significant impact on the global economy? The economy is dependent on goods flowing out of China, not people. Goods can be nuked, UV bombarded whatever it takes to kill viruses. We don’t need Chinese people in Walmart, just the cheap crap they make.

The biggest impact on the global economy will be when Chinese workers stop showing up for their shifts cause they are dead or sick. Wonder if that will wake up some if these morons who think single source is an awesome practice.

China just opened their only BSL-4 virology lab 5 years ago; it’s in Wuhan; quite the coincidence, eh?
If it did come from the lab, it's much more likely to be because they bungled something and not something intentional. They don't have a good track record of properly reporting accidents, and they also tend to be quite careless.
