I would hope there was more then just the thief that lost his job over that. If I was a tax payer there, I'd be looking for more heads to roll.

This is journalism at it's finest :green:
The Cameron County District Attorney’s Office has beef with one Juvenile Justice Department employee, alleging he stole $1.2 million worth of fajitas during the past nine years.

The Cameron County Juvenile Justice Department does not serve fajitas.

Taxpayers are 100% on the hook for this and will never see a penny of restitution

I'd settle for some of those fajitas :beat:

    Let’s see.
H-E-B is selling fajita meat for $4.50 a pound.
1.2 mil divided by $4.50 is 266,666 pounds of fajitas.
    /9 is 29,600 pounds a year
    Or 81 pounds a day.

The problem is when you screw use this badly it’s not just the thief who’s head will roll but the people that should have caught and audited it. Since there is no way our government will police itself like private industry does this crime will get swept under the rug.

Depends on what part of the government you are talking about. I was DoD and I can guarantee we were policed more than a private business.

Reading other sources it was a little over 800 pounds per week. And everything was rolling along fine for 9 years, until he had a Dr’s appointment and wasn’t there when the delivery showed up.
