Good Lord... the thief deserves what he gets but shooting in a busy parking lot in a neighborhood is just stupid... and gives other CHL owners a bad name... and endangers our right to be CHL holders.

I heard about it on the news (Fox), this morning. The guy that got robbed is lucky he didn't hit an innocent bystander. He sure didn't hit the robber.

Too bad he missed ... an arguably, and most likely defensible, legitimate shoot, ruined by a bad shot. If you're gonna push up against the letter of the law in Texas, practice with that weapon, and don't miss.

That said, I'm with matefrio ... no personal property of mine will ever be worth the use of deadly force.

It would take a lot more than a stolen iPhone for me to risk a long shot in a semi-crowded public place like a Walmart parking lot. Then again, I'm in good enough shape to run down most thieves in an area as short as a parking lot with a sprint.

Are you sure the thief isn't the problem?
