I have a CHL and a handgun because I can only trust myself to always be there in the event something goes south.

Always about ME... ME... ME... Nobody asked why do YOU: "Why do you have a CHL and a firearm?" Heck, your reasons sound very much like why I'm about to obtain mine.
Could we both we on the same track, without being for the same political party??? OMG!! Could this be???

I'm talking about the non middle class people according to John McCain.

Don't forget George Bush's hurricane generator.

Ah-ha! So thats how he does it..... I see.... betcha it was from using UFO technology obtained by the crash that occurred in Roswell, NM July 7, 1947. Same technology they are keeping secret in Area 51.
Yea, Man..... It's all getting clearer now...
He had the hurricane hit oil rigs in Texas so oil prices can go up a bit more so he can cash in before he gets the boot out of office..... Hmmm.. makes sense!

People in the US have every opportunity to improve themselves and increase their value in the job market. Too many people are simply complacent in making excuses and complaining about their pay than actually working to improve it. If you are an unskilled Mexican immigrant at McDonalds making $5.15 / hr. then start learning English. In a years time you will be a bilingual worker that can make $8 / hr. somewhere else.

This part I do agree with you... and will add more.
Stop blaming and complaining about illegal immigrants stealing jobs... cause they are doing jobs that most of us US citizens rejected or wouldn't do. Get off your asses and stop sucking up welfare funds.

    I'm not a republican, or a democrat. I'm a citizen that votes.

It was an on-the-spot figure. Go ask the far majority of Americans and you'll get a huge spectrum of figures just the same. Obama's figure of $250K is probably about spot on, but his tax policy is idiocy. I'll take greater economic freedom over a single spoken figure any day.

Yes, to a point. The labor sector has been flooded in Texas with immigrants, and it has driven out alot of US citizens from jobs. I've seen it first hand. It's alot easier to charge lower rates when you have half the costs of living, and virtually no taxation.

Yes, I'm sure we'd come up with a broad range as well.... but under 5 Million... come on! You must agree that is extreme.

I wouldn't say it's extreme, but it is high. If the figure was total net worth, then $5 Million would be much more accurate. The kicker is that he said income.

That is mild in terms of overall policy. Extreme is thinking that increased taxation on the wealthy, or any group for that matter, is going to help the economy.

I have had to change careers 4 times in my 26 years actively in the workforce. DO NOT tell me that illegal immigration is not affecting the American worker:banghead:

Originally trained as a land surveyer. Got pretty good and was running the instrument. All of a sudden, the company I worked for started hiring illegals to "just cut line" as they put it. Pretty soon they were doing everything and doing it for about 30-40% less money than they had to pay a citizen.

    I moved north and learned how to bind books. I operated a three knife trimmer, saddle stitcher, hot and cold glue binder, and mad3 about 18.00 per hour{ late 80's}

I also learned how to finish concrete{ summer job with a friend's dad, as you cannot pour in Michigan past Sept} Made about 25.00 per hour doing that on weekends.

    Moved to Texas in 1994 and concrete finishers make 10-12 per hour{ all illegals in the field } and book bindery operators make about 7.50 per hour{ all illegals}

When you have to change careers because someone who is here illegally cuts your wages by half, talk to me about whining. Till then I suggest you get out a little more often.

    Yes sir,

Only about 1-5% of the country can aford to even shop at Neiman's. There is a large amount of people who are still working for minium wage...which has been stuck around 5.15 an hour for 10yrs. The common man went from paying 25.00 to fill up his car to around 45.00 bucks. I'm pretty sure the economy is still effecting him.

As for the economy doing great as a whole, it's a sham. The Feds are proping up the USD to make the economy look good for the up coming elections. This makes the commodities look bad which is a good indicator of the economy. In the last 4 months they have closed 11 banks. The F&F bailout only makes things worse.

You're half right about the Feds. They keep screwing with the economy and not letting it repair itself.

The gov't is largely to blame for the failed housing market. The housing market was going gangbusters until F&F, which are quasi-gov't entities, started offering low or no money down financing with variable mortgage rates to people who didn't have any financial business buying a house. Then the Fed starts raising the prime rate in order to keep inflation in check and what happens? Those variable rates go up along with their mortgage payments and the whole thing goes down the tubes. Now the quasi-gov't F&F is now all gov't.

Everybody knows who Ken Lay and Enron is because it's a private company that screwed everybody. The masses wanted his head on a platter and rightly so, but does anybody know who was at the top of F&F debacle that made off like bandits? I know who it is, but I don't want to get political.

When the federal gov't is involved in these bailouts, it eliminates the notion of risk. Risk is what causes responsibility.

Both candidates are ringing the bell of regulation reform and they couldn't be more wrong. We have plenty of regulation. What we need is accountability.

Q: Do you fall in the middle class $5 M net worth?? huh??
If so... all the rest of us are "poor" and those we consider poor are "Sub-poor"... how about the homeless? Well, since the 'sub-poor' are below 'poor' ... they must be down there with rats an roaches.

    I agree with you 100%.
But I personally would rather see an illegal immigrant come to take on a job and bust his/her ass to better his/her life... than some of our US citizens that are able bodied, but don't want to work and expecting a handout and exploiting methods to milk off welfare. Taking away resources from people that really need it and wasting our tax dollars.
People like them I have NO RESPECT for, NONE!

    That is an upper limit.

What does it matter what numerical value defines a group of people? Is it right for someone that makes more money to pay more taxes to live in the same country? No.

Just because someone is wealthy does not mean we have a right to tax them on another level. That is simply jealousy and our own self-greed.

DING-DING-DING!!! We have another winner!!

Edit: Removed my last comments because you're not even worth my time.

Not worth your time, but you spent 11 minutes making a reply and editing it about 5 times.

Where is your response to my post? Is it fair or isn't it, and upon what basis?

I'm very glad you're so observant, Alan. Yes, I did indeed got back an edit, re-edit and ultimately figure it's not worth it nor will it resolve anything.

With that said: On to you. You have and make a very valid point indeed, I'm not denying it nor will I totally disagree with it at all. The trouble is that is just one of the many cogs in the great scheme of things, the tip of the iceberg. Without getting into a long drawn out discussion (at least not tonight) lets say that "Each takes care of their own", meaning that 'things' get played in favor of the "clan member". Kinda like a crooked dealer in a casino, as a vague example. Those people always tend to accumulate winnings as long as the same dealer is dealing. While the other people playing, even though they can play the game just as well... keep losing and paying into the system.

Start another thread with a more conclusive response. I already have a counter argument, but your analogy is too limited.
