Uncle Walter was a closet liberal when he was the CBS anchor. He was instrumental in pulling us out of Vietnam, indirectly causing many American deaths. He was not our friend.

After retiring he "came out of the closet" and championed many liberal causes. Over at MRC.org they list many of his liberal beliefs. Among them are "Get Out of Iraq NOW" where MRC comments "Walter Waves White Flag, Again".

But the one that is pertinent for you and me is his support for "Pushing for More Gun Control" where he supported Brady Center and Handgun Control.

I suppose he was not unlike many liberal news media of today, no more wars and give up our guns.
